1.Please introduce your site
and yourself.
Im 22 years old from Brazil. I do mostly collage work(digitally
and handmade), illustrations, photo and type. Misprinted
Type was created by me in 1997-1998 and the very first
version was horrible...
I just made it in order to distribute the typefaces
I was creating at the time. And over the years, it became
my artistic and experimental playground.

2. You mentioned "advertise-ment
school" in your education section,
can you tell us about that school in detail?
Advertisement school was actually disapointment school.
I choose it because
I liked to draw, and out of pure ignorance, I thought
I would perfectly fit in that school... I was tottally
wrong about it. Its a hipocrit business... teaching
how to sell and manipulate people into blind consumism.
But it was a "good experience" because I learned
a lot from that, and which lead me to the interest of
psychology.

3.If you have any, please tell
us your on-going project.
Besides all the commercial works, I´ve been workin
on a collage book that might travel to lots of people
around the globe, to add to it.(kindda like the 1000journals.com
project, but with an especific list of people) Adding
collages, drawings,photos...
pretty much whatever they feel like doing. Im also workin
on the new version of the site...but that might take
a while...

4. You seemed to have much interest
in philosophy,psychology and the
group named TOOL, did these things influenced on your
graphic designs?
As a matter of fact, I`m engrossed in these area, too.
Yes, this field interests me, because Im a very curious
and introspective person. So its great to learn more
about things that you usually wouldnt stop and think
about it. And once youre in the creation business these
subjects
are very important, because everything can be related
to it, from your initial concept to the creation of
the piece itself. And from doing that, it starts a mess
in your head.. so many things to think, to accept, to
hide, to protect or to forget. My personal work is what
I put outside from my own thinking, to release these
things that keeps walking in my head. And music... music
makes the work flow...

5.Most designs seem to be connected
to each other.
Do you have any philosophy or style on the design?
Uhmm.. I dont think that most pieces connects to each
other.. some of them are part of a serie.. like "blind
people", etc... but most of them are very distinct
pieces. But as far as a similar style, yes, its true.
*
6.The apmosphere of your designs
are classic, but also very provokative
and daring. Does this tendency reflect your character
or imply a sort of social feeling message?
I think my works reflects my thinking. And yes, its
good to provoke. To slap
people in the face and open their eyes. But personally,
Im an easy going person... and I think its always a
bad idea to confuse the art with the artist... or
vice-versa. ;)

7.Your design usually contain
the image of human organs something like brain,
legs and arms, mouth and vowels. What is the meaning
of these?
I think anything I do related to body parts is because
it reflects the humanistic
point of view of my work (of course not always). But
you probably noticed that most of my pieces have a human
face or body... its not a coincidence. But as far as
what they mean... thats up to you and what they mean
FOR YOU.
*
8.You seem to use typography,
handdrowing and graphic tool when you work.
Are you also interested in the oil paintings?
Im absolutely fascinated with paintings. Mostly mixed
media... But lets say
that I need more practice in this field! ;)

9.How is your relationship with
ths.com, d5ive.com and oversees designers?
I met a lot of people from the internet over these
years. Its weird, because
you get to know these different people, but you actually
dont really "know"
them... Ths and d5ive are 2 artists/designers that I
admire.

10.What do you think about the
American designer, James Victore, who also use the image
of human organs in his designs? And if you have any,
who had most powerful impact on you and got the greatest
respect from you?
James Victore has a very nice work, from the concepts
to its visuals. People have been using organs for years
on their art and in designs.. (take dada art for example).
Its not like its a new deal or something...everything
have already been done.
I dont know a single person who does something that
I really can say: its new!
You might have your touch, style, into your work, but
everything is similar to something else, if you really
dig references... Its an amazing and weird thing...
AS far as who I respect the most... uhmm.. thats a difficult
question.. because I respect so many people works...
I guess the 2 people that I´ve been admiring from
a long time is charles Wilkin and Steve smith.

11.Usually, where do you get
most of your concept, idea, and insperation about your
work?
From the things that I´ve been thinking of constantly,
from books, films, music. Everything can be inspiring
as long as you know how to dissecate it.

12.You are not well-known to
Korea yet. Say something to Korean fans
and your opinion about Asian design.
Korean Fans, thanks! I would like visit korea sometime.
And hopefully
I will in the future. As far as asian design, its a
very impressive scene.
Asian culture illustrations are something that blow
my eyes, and you can pretty much tell it was asian.
Like India illustrations... Just amazing.
Its too bad that we dont see a lot of korean sites around.
And sometimes they
dont have the english option on it, which makes it very
hard to read..
The internet is there and we should share our talent
with the world. I hope to see more korean site and works
around the net.
